Going through a ski season without ski boot warmers is like hitting the slopes without skis.
Your feet will get cold, whether you’re wearing mens ski boots, womens ski boots or kids ski boots, when you spend hours outside skiing or snowboarding.
With ski boot warmers (also called ski boot heaters) you can avoid that chill and coldness that starts at the bottom (your feet) and works its way up, eventually taking over your whole body.
If you spend any time outside you know that once your extremities (hand and feet) begin to get cold it starts weighing on your mind. And when that happens it affects your enjoyment and performance. Once you get back inside boot glove dryers will warm your boots and gloves for the next time. However, that doesn’t help you keep warm while you’re outside.

Though exriments science has now caught up with what you’ve known all along, that if you keep your extremities (feet, toes, hands and fingers) warm the rest of your body will stay warmer because all of your blood is warm. And if you stay warm (or do not get cold) your performance will not decrease.
I wish I had all the money those scientists spent on studies to figure that out because you or I could have saved them a lot of time (we would have taken the money though) to finally come to that conclusion.
Nonetheless, the manufacturers of skiing equipment, winter boots and gloves, and all winter wear have joined the fray. By offering ski boot warmers, ski boot heaters, glove warmers and boot and glove dryers.
These products by manufactures such as Hotronic, Therm-ic, DryGuy, Seirus and others were designed with skiers in mind. However, they are now also being used by others who enjoy winter sports such as snowboarding, ice fishing and snowmobiling. You can use ski boot warmers for any situation where you want to keep your feet warm: hiking boots, snowshoes and hunting boots fall in that category.
How do these ski boot warmers work? There are several different methods, but some of them, like the Hotronic FootWarmer M4 PowerPlus Custom 2010, have small battery packs that do the heating. This particular battery pack contains four (4) NIMH cells that allow four different settings giving you between 2.5 – 21 hours of heat, depending upon the setting you use. The most common setting used is Setting #2 with allows for 7 – 9 hours of heat before recharging.
Another popular footwarmer by Hotronic is the FootWarmer M3 Custom 2010. It’s similar to Hotronic’s M4 model, however the M3 is more compact and contains three cells in each battery pack instead of four cells.
The manufacturers of these ski boot heaters not only make them so that they keep your feet warm, but they also make them so they are convenient and practical. For example some manufacturers provide brackets in the boots so you can mount the battery packs on the back or the side of the boot.
Ski boot heaters work well for all sizes of skis, whether they’re large or small, men’s skis, women’s skis or kid’s skis. These warmers will benefit not only downhill skiers, but anybody else who enjoys outdoor sports and wants to keep their feet warm like those who snowboard, Cross Country or Nordic ski, ice fish, snowmobile or hunt.
Ski boot warmers don’t have to stop with play only. Anybody who works out in the cold can benefit from these boot heaters by keeping their feet warm and making their day a little more comfortable. For example, after a winter snowstorm you can easily spend hours shoveling or snowblowing driveways and sidewalks. Your feet will definitely get cold being out in the driveway moving snow with a snowblower or shovel for that long.

So even though ski boot warmers were designed for those who want to play in the snow, or in any fun, winter activities, they can also be used for those who need to work in the snow and cold.
